Legacy Parts
Typically the demand for Reverse Engineering comes from clients who need to continue using existing "legacy" components as the basis of a new design or to incorporate them with newly designed parts for which they have no CAD data.
Prototypes
Another application is where parts need to be modified for improved styling, ergonomics or performance and updated CAD models need to be produced.
