JPL held its 24th annual High-Tech Conference on March 5-7 and Integrity was present for the proceedings. There were great speakers, instructional sessions, good food, fun receptions and plenty of networking opportunities. The conference was held at the Los Angeles Airport Westin Hotel.
The conference is designed for networking. It is hosted by JPL’s Business Opportunities Office and the cover of the information folder bears the slogan, "We Mean Business for Small Business”. And they do. The entire meeting is devoted to introducing small businesses to the large prime contractors who work with JPL, NASA and the military, and to the government agencies themselves.
So from early morning on into the night, everyone is listening, learning and networking. The sessions taught such things as how to get an accounting system approved for federal cost reimbursement contracts, or panel discussions with people from the large organizations telling small businesses how to work with them.
In between sessions, the small businesses could go and meet people from the large organizations at trade show booths set up around the hotel conference area. One on one discussions with the people who have made careers out of helping small businesses work with huge corporations.
The Integrity team was there to launch the new Recon Engineering Services and it was a resounding success. There was quite a bit of excitement about solving the obsolescence problem as older equipment is updated to remain serviceable. Read more about Recon in the article
